This sport, although niche, has a strong following of dedicated enthusiasts, although if it's going to be your first time heading up the hills don't worry, you'll be accompanied by experts at this event. Ski touring is an excellent sport to get into, it can be difficult and challenging due to the incline of the mountains, but most find that this is the aspect that is most rewarding.
Of course, trying ski touring in Val Thorens is going to be particularly exciting for you, thanks to the stunning views that encapsulate the area. Located in the Savoie region of the French Alps, Val Thorens is attractive and delectable, as this is where some of the best cheese can be found in the whole country. You'll need something delicious after working hard during ski touring and a tartiflette can be an excellent treat at the end of a sporty evening.

This contest is on the same level as the X Games and features a jump that is 46ft high with a massive 98ft gap to push the world's best competitors to their limits. This jump is a custom-built feature and it has glory and cash prizes at the end of it that all the professionals will be hoping to take home with them. The Rondes Nocturnes Savoie Mont Blanc comes to Chamonix
The competition tests the agility and speed of professional skiers, it takes place at night and takes the form of a team sprinting relay. It consists of two runners who take it in turns to race around an 800 metre loop against other teams. The Argentiere Sports Club are the ones hosting the stage in Chamonix, which will take place on Wednesday 3rd February. This particular part of the competition combines high levels of competition and a wonderful performance in the heart of one of the most beautiful resorts in the Savoie region of the Alps.
One of the best things about this competition is that it is open to just about anyone. You are welcome to come and join in the fun, whether you are a beginner or if you are a large or small cross-country skier. A particularly good feature of this competition for families is that any age can take part, so a parent can team up with their little one, if they like! There will be room for everyone because there are a wide range of level groupings, purposefully done so that no one is excluded from the skiing action.
