Ski hire Kaprun

Sitting below the impressive Kitzsteinhorn glacier, the town of Kaprun attracts snow sports enthusiasts throughout most of the year. Making one half of the Zell am See-Kaprun ski resort, the town has access to slopes in three areas - each of which has incredible skiing and snowboarding opportunities. At over 3,000m above sea level the slopes on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier are permanently under one metre of snow and have skiing and boarding for all ability levels. Freestylers have a choice of three snowparks covering 30,000m2 on the glacier, along with a 5.5 metre high half-pipe. The closest area to Kaprun is Maiskogel, this area has loads of great gentle slopes which families and beginners will enjoy. The third ski area accessible from Kaprun is Schmittenhöhe, above the lake at Zell am See this area is the largest in the resort and has the most variety of slopes for all levels. In total there are 130km of marked downhill slopes to enjoy, and a further 200km of cross-country ski trails. And the Zell am See-Kaprun resort isn't all about snow sports. The huge Lake Zell on the edge of Zell am See is used for all sorts of ice-based sports. The traditional sports of ice skating, curling, and ice hockey are very popular, along with the less conventional sports of ice sailing, ice surfing, and snow kiting.Back in Kaprun you'll realise that the town isn't just a ski village, it has had an eventful history over the many centuries since its founding, and is now home to a wealth of activities. The Burg Kaprun, a 12th century castle, holds history exhibitions, medieval festivals, music concerts, theatre productions, and art exhibitions, all of which allow you to learn about the history and culture of Kaprun. The Optimum leisure complex has every kind of pool, sauna, and fitness area you could want. And of course, as Kaprun is a well-established town it has plenty of restaurant and bar choices for your après ski time
