Ski hire Livigno

The ski resort of Livigno sits near the Swiss border in the beautiful Valtellina valley. Nicknamed "Little Tibet" because of its peaceful mountain location, Livigno is an excellent all-round ski resort with breathtaking high altitude slopes and modern purpose-built facilities. The skiing and snowboarding is split between three ski areas, Costaccia, Carosello, and Mottolino. Covering both sides of the valley these areas have varied terrain and pistes suitable for all levels of snow sport enthusiast. Beginners will enjoy the gentle runs which are ideal for learning the basics, intermediates have 37 red slopes to challenge themselves on, and experts can satisfy their need for speed on the long, technical pistes. Snowboarders are well catered for in Livigno with three snowparks to choose from, and most of the terrain is accessible by chair lift and gondola. To enjoy the snow and winter climate without skiing or boarding there are plenty of alternatives. Adventurers can go ice climbing, or for a more relaxed pace you can explore the area on the Nordic walking and snowshoe trails. For some thrills why not try tubing, snowmobiling, or check out the bobsleigh track? And engine-powered winter fun can be found at the resort's car and go-kart ice driving track! After your full days on the snow you can find relaxation in the three villages that make up the Livigno resort. The villages of San Antonio, San Rocco and Santa Maria are connected by a free bus service and in each there are plenty of spas, swimming pools, gyms, and saunas where you can unwind and rejuvenate before heading out to one of the numerous restaurants. Shopping is another great way to relax after the slopes, especially as Livigno has duty free status! In the evenings the après ski atmosphere kicks in and Livigno is transformed into a lively nightspot. Famous for its bars and entertainment the resort has something to suit most tastes, from family events like ice sculpture displays and culture-rich classical music concerts, to busy traditional Alpine bars and late night clubs.
