In the canton of Valais, the small resort of Morgins in the Swiss Alps has a welcoming, warm atmosphere.
Set between 1350 and 2277 m altitude, its ski area is made up of a total 100 km of ski slopes, including 5 km of green runs, 47 km of blue runs, 41 km of red runs and 7 km of black runs. If you want to get away from it all, Morgins is part of the Les Portes du Soleil ski area which comprises 650 km of Alpine skiing runs, between 1000 and 2466 m altitude. Freestylers are guaranteed to have fun - the resort has built a snow park which is divided into two parts: one destined for beginners, the other for the more advanced. Children and beginners can benefit from the help of two ski lifts at different levels in a separate and safe area.
Nordic skiing fans' dreams will come true in Morgins, which maintains a network of 20 km of trails leading through the forest and along the river. The lake trail is lit at night, on request.
Non-skiers have a multitude of activities to choose from: carriage rides for romantics and snowshoeing or indoor tennis for more sporty types. If you want to have fun, why not have a go at Deval Karting on the snow. The resort of Morgins is also known for its ferrous water, referred to as red water.
