As the weather starts to warm up, the sunshine can be a welcome sight - but unfortunately, it also means that the amount of snow at many of our favourite resorts will start to disappear.

 

While the melting snow and the approaching end of the ski season can be disappointing, the good news is that there are several spots across the Alps where you can find late-season snow. In fact, if you head high enough into the mountains, you can find skiing pretty much year-round. You just need to know where to look.

The Open Faces Freeride Tour will be coming to Obergurgl-Hochgurgle, with a demanding four-star qualifier in late March.

As one of the most intense and exciting freeride venues in Austria, Obergurgl-Hochgurgle is a highlight of the tour's 2017 line-up. The contest will have nine stops in total, and five of them will be in the Tyrol area. These are Axamer Lizum, Kappl in Paznaun Valley, Alpbachtal Valley, Fieberbrunn and, of course, Obergurgl.
