The purpose-built Passo Tonale is one of the highest ski resorts in Italy, and has skiing and snowboarding for all ability levels on its well designed slopes. Between 1,880m and 3,100m the pistes span from the Ortles-Cevedale to the Adamello-Presanella mountains, and have some fantastic views. Although functional in style the resort centre is the ideal destination for snow sports holidays, as the facilities and infrastructure are excellent, there's a good range of accommodation, and great après ski bars and restaurants. Also the snow record is impeccable thanks to Passo Tonale's position below the Presena Glacier - there's even snow for winter sports during the summer up on the glacier.Perfect for beginners, intermediates, and experts alike, Passo Tonale has 100km of marked slopes which connect four villages. Perfectly prepared snow-sure nursery slopes are right by the resort centre and give learners the best possible terrain to practice on. Skiers and snowboarders at intermediate level have a huge 60km of slopes to explore and should find a variety of terrain to enjoy during their holiday. And there are some spine-chilling runs for the experts, as well as tons of off-piste. There's also a snowpark with boxes, kickers, and a half-pipe.A cross-country skiing paradise, Passo Tonale has loads of different routes you can follow through the spectacular Alpine landscape. And the Cross Country Skiing Centre is a great facility which has a ski school, changing rooms, an ice rink, ski maintenance and hire, and a biathlon stadium. Other sports at Passo Tonale include ski mountaineering, snowshoe walking, dog sledding, and outdoor ice skating. All of these activities and sports at Passo Tonale allow you to enjoy the spectacular scenery, magical snow, and sunny blue skies. This is definitely an area which you should take the time to discover from different perspectives, not just from the downhill slopes.
