Only a 30 minute drive from Grenoble the ski resort of Les 7 Laux is perfectly placed for short weekend breaks as well as longer holidays, and as the third largest resort in the Isère region of France Les 7 Laux has snow sports terrain for all disciplines and ability levels in and around its ski areas. At 1,350m in the resort you'll find the village of Prapoutel which is the hub of activities within Les 7 Laux - the resort's split between three villages but Prapoutel has most of the facilities and services. The other villages are Le Pleynet at 1,450m, a big ski station, and Pipay at 1,550m, a small rustic mountain village. The ski area of Les 7 Laux has been completely renovated over the past ten years, with 90% of the lifts being replaced and modernised. These changes have left the resort a highly attractive option for skiers and snowboarders of all levels as Les 7 Laux now has around 100kilomètres of marked slopes including great learner areas, a high number of blue and red slopes, some challenging blacks, and some fantastic off-piste areas to explore - there's enough backcountry to keep any serious enthusiast busy for a week and eager to come back for more. The renovation of Les 7 Laux has also led to it becoming a mecca for freestylers. The HO5 snowpark is now legendary as it's constantly being updated and improved. Split into three areas, there's an ice racing track which is similar to boardercross, The Wolves Run rail park, and the Pro Park with big features for the experts. These snow sports facilities in addition to the other activities available from Prapoutel, which include cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking, snakegliss, skating on a natural ice rink, and paragliding, should be more than enough to entertain everyone during a holiday to Les 7 Laux. And when you're off the ice and snow the activities don't stop, in Prapoutel you can visit the local market, indulge yourself at the wellness centre, enjoy the many events which the resort organises throughout the season, or participate in the traditional après ski activities of eating and drinking in the many great restaurants and bars.
