Soldeu - The Grandvalira skiable area

10/02/2020

Grandvalira is the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees and is a vast playing field for snow sport lovers. The entire family can become immersed in the joys of winter sports.

The Grandvalira skiable area is located to the east of the Principality of Andorra and is well-known for the diversity of its pistes and the variety of sports activities. The Soldeu resort is both modern and dynamic and has also become the key spot in the Pyrenees. People go there to stock up on thrills and enjoy the exceptional sunlight of the region.

The most extensive ski area in the Pyrenees

The Soldeu and Casa resorts together make up the Grandvalira ski area. With the pass of the same name, you have access to 210 km of pistes and the 71 ski lifts, because Soldeu is one access to the ski area. A vast area of blue pistes close to the resort allows families to get reacquainted with snow sports. Then, once they are at ease on the snow, it is easier to access more difficult pistes by the ski lifts. Funparks, off-piste skiing, competition pistes and a snowpark can also be easily accessed by the bold or thrill-seekers.

Tip: Soldeu is a connected resort

There are many Wi-Fi access points across the Grandvalira ski area so you can stay connected at all times.

Soldeu: Sports activities for the entire family

To diversify their offer and provide you with even more thrills, the Grandvalira ski area, and in particular the Soldeu resort, provide many sports activities:

  • For example, you can try night skiing from Tuesday to Sunday from 5 pm to 10 pm. This nocturnal sport is available on the Le Peretol piste at an altitude of 1,960 meters. The resort snowpark (Henrik Harlaut) is also lit throughout the evening during the season.
  • Other outings are regularly organised for families. These include tobogganing, snowshoe walks, hikes or even horse-driven sleigh rides.
  • You can also benefit from advice from the freestyle teams that give daily lessons on one of the resort funparks
  • The resort also recently created a new beginners’ space and a circuit called Yokai for children.

Nightlife for after-ski entertainment

What also makes Soldeu different from other resorts in the Pyrenees is the nightlife. Entertainment is abundant here and the atmosphere is always welcoming. For example, there is a wide variety of bars, restaurants and discotheques where you can party until late in the evening, but there is also a well-being centre where you can recover after the day’s activities.

Soldeu and its Grandvalira ski area are dream venues where you can share the joys of skiing with loved ones. It is an exceptional skiable area, but it also has a special and unforgettable ambiance.
