Ski resort St. Johann in Tirol

Sitting at 670m above sea level in the centre of the Kitzbühel Alps you'll find the traditional town of St Johann in Tirol. From this fantastic location between the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser mountains St Johann has a fantastic snow sports landscape within its own ski area and access to the huge area of the Kitzbüheler Alpen region - with the Kitzbüheler Alpen AllStarCard you can enjoy over 1,000km of marked slopes between 800m and 3,000m in altitude over ten ski areas from Tirol right the way to Salzburg. With this amount of snow sports terrain on your doorstep it's impossible not to find almost endless slopes and areas which are suitable for your ability level while being fun and challenging from St Johann in Tirol.  You won't necessarily have to explore the vast Kitzbüheler Alpen region to find terrain for you. Within St Johann's own ski area there are 67km of mixed level groomed slopes on the North snowy side of the Kitzbüheler Horn, and with the links to the neighbouring resorts in the Schneewinkel ski area there are 176km of fantastic pistes to explore. St Johann in Tirol is also the starting and finishing point of the biggest cross-country ski race in Austria so you can expect to find excellent and varied trails for this sport around the resort. Also within the St Johann area there are an abundance of winter hiking routes, tobogganing slopes, facilities for a number of ice sports, and many more adventurous pursuits - thrill seekers can take high altitude paragliding trips, try the Quantya snow motocross bikes, or take a ride down the 531m of zip lines in the Flying Fox adventure park. And the activities don't stop when you return to the town centre of St Johann. In the Panorama Badewelt complex there are pools, fitness facilities, and spas where you can relax, exercise, and treat yourself. Throughout the season events like parties and guided walks are organised, and night sledging as well as skiing is available. Another popular way to relax après ski is found in the many restaurants and bars of the resort. Serving a variety of cuisines and with individual characters these establishments provide most of the evening entertainment in St Johann, with some very lively options for any night owls.
