Welcome to the Bernese Alps
The magnificent Wengen ski resort opens its doors to you, at an elevation of 1,274m, clinging to a balcony that overhangs impressive cliffs. Wengen makes the quality of its welcome its main goal. Services, facilities and shopping are all available to you to help you have an unforgettable winter sports holiday.
An impressive ski area
Accessing the ski area couldn't be simpler: take the Männlichen cable car from the village centre up to the top of the slopes at 2,120m. From there, admire the exceptional panorama before throwing yourself into the 112kilomètres of pistes that join up with the neighbouring Grindewald resort that shares the area with Wengen. The famous Lauberhorn race, one of the most difficult stages in the alpine skiing World Cup that takes place every year in January, has made this resort and ski area known throughout the world. Beginners meet in a space reserved for them in the village centre, while more advanced skiers can explore the neighbouring ski areas of Mürren and Lauterbrunnen, thereby taking advantage of 100kilomètres of additional pistes.
Non-skiing activities at the top!
During your stay in Wengen, don't forget to visit Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe, dominating the region at an altitude of 3,454m. There you can admire the 360° view over the Alps from the high-altitude restaurant while tasting the local specialities. Many additional activities are offered at the resort: sledding areas, a wellness centre, an ice rink, sleigh rides and snowshoeing. The only problem will be choosing among them. And to liven up your nights, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and events invite you to festive occasions with your family or friends.
